This week, “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert will be back at his desk as host of “The Tonight Show” — an all-new, multi-platform project with NBCUniversal that will be launching in late March or early April.
Colbert’s latest project will be a new late night talk show on NBCUniversal, a project that also includes “The Nightly Show” on CBS.
It will feature a host who will not be a former “Late Late Show host,” but will instead be someone who has been “presenting a variety of late night programming since 1999.”
Colbert will host the new show on a Thursday night, with the network calling it “the most ambitious, diverse, and exciting late night show ever.”
The new program, called “The Colbert Report,” is being billed as a new kind of late-night.
It’s set to debut in March, and Colbert will join host Stephen A. Smith, former host Conan O’Brien, former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Samantha Bee, former Late Late Late Host host Craig Ferguson and current host Stephen Baldwin, as the only late-show hosts.
It promises to be “an hour-long conversation about the world,” according to the NBCUniversal website.
The show is being described as a combination of “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and “The Daily Show” with Colbert as host.
Colbert has said he is working on a new show called “Late Show With John Oliver” with John Oliver and Samantha Bee.
The new show, Colbert said, is “not just a rebranding of the late night but a re-imagining of late nights in a way that allows us to reach more people, and more of our audience in ways that haven’t been possible before.
Colbert also announced he will host “The Jimmy Kimmel Live!” live from Los Angeles in the fall.
The Colbert Show will be available to all cable and satellite subscribers, with most of its content free, on NBC, CBS and Fox.
Colbert, who will host for the first time on a Sunday night, has also said he will be doing interviews with people who are fans of his new show.
In addition to the new program with Colbert, NBCUniversal has also announced that the network will be revamping its network’s lineup of late shows with a host of comedians, actors and actors’ voices joining the mix.”
The host of the new NBC comedy series ‘The Colbert Family’ will also be joining the network this season.””
The cast of ‘Late Late Club With Craig Ferguson’ will include James Corden, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, Keegan-Michael Key, Chris Hardwick and Michael Che.
The host of the new NBC comedy series ‘The Colbert Family’ will also be joining the network this season.”
While Colbert has been busy hosting the show, his co-hosts also will be making guest appearances.
The show will debut in the spring on CBS and will air for the next six weeks on NBC.
